Perspectives of perpetrators in Iceland: life stories, cases and their views on support frameworks
Dr. Jón Ingvar Kjaran, assistant professor at the University of Iceland, School of Education. His research focus is on gender equality, sexuality, sociology of eduction, and violence in intimate relationships. He is currently working on research on perpetrators´ experiences of violence as well as research on the intersection of sexuality and gender in schools. In February 2017, a book based on his ethnographic research in Icelandic high schools will be published at Palgrave Macmillan, bearing the title Constructing Sexualities and Gendered Bodies in School Spaces. Mr. Kjaran is currently working on a book in Icelandic about the experiences of queer/gay Iranians, which is based on his ethnographic study in Tehran. This research project is in a co-operation with dr. Wayne Martino at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
