We call for participation in the conference Confronting gendered violence: Focus on perpetrators which will be held in Helsinki on 30 November till 2 December 2016. The conference will be held in the House of Estates, situated in the city centre of Helsinki and the language of the conference is English.
The conference sets focus on the contexts of perpetrators in the Nordic countries, seeking ways to break the cycles of violence. The conference will present fresh results from the Nordic report on models to end domestic and intimate partner violence and offer a platform for sharing lessons, discussing the implementation of the Istanbul convention as well as forming a Nordic network for professionals focusing on perpetrators. The target group of the conference is different actors working with issues regarding perpetrators of domestic and intimate partner violence, policymakers and practitioners such as NGOs, researchers, institutes and organizations that make the support systems within the Nordic countries.

We welcome expression of interest for individual participation that corresponds to our session topics:

- Social frameworks and support systems for perpetrators
We welcome contributions from practitioners from the Nordic countries in administration and academia, exploring dynamic issues, ideas in the field and for sharing lessons learned. Small number of contributors will be offered a sponsorship (travel and accommodation), but candidates are invited to submit a short summary of their suggested contribution, professional information and field of work via the conference website at: http://cgv.hi.is/registration. Submission deadline is 26 September 2016. Submissions will be screened by a selection panel based on the relevance of contribution. Selected candidates will contribute to one of the three sessions of the conference as speakers but videos, documentaries and other mediums of participation are also welcomed.
